VISITING ROYALTY PARADE INVITATION
Each VISITING QUEEN must send in an entry form and a release of liability form by the due date. There are three areas of participation:
RODEO GRAND ENTRY – Friday thru Sunday. The California Rodeo Grand Entry is a featured parade in front of the grandstands and a part of each day’s opening ceremonies. Everyone (16 years and older) is encouraged to participate in our grand entry all three days, even if you are not scheduled for the Royalty Run.
ROYALTY RUN - Friday thru Sunday (immediately following the Grand Entry). This is an individual run down from the north end of the track to the south end in front of the main grandstand. A skilled rider and a seasoned horse is a must to participate.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- We request only one representative from each rodeo or horse association and she must be the top queen, sorry no junior queens or princesses.
- IN ADDITION (DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS) YOU WILL ONLY GET ONE ROYALTY RUN. Please specify your 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. WE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR FIRST CHOICE, BUT WE MAY HAVE TO USE YOUR 2ND OR 3RD CHOICE ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE BASIS.
- If you are scheduled in the Royalty Run for a specific day, you must also participate in the Rodeo Grand Entry for that day as well.
DOWNTOWN PARADE - Saturday and Sunday only. A Rodeo tradition, the horse parade travels through downtown Salinas and out to the Rodeo Grounds. Be sure to check-in with Parade Staff no later than 10:00 am.
