Industrial Calf Dressing is an event during each performance of the California Rodeo. The top 3 teams from the Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances return on Sunday to compete for the championship!
This event offers a unique opportunity for non-professional rodeo contestants to become active participants in rodeo. It is presented by West Coast Community Bank (formerly 1st Capital Bank, a
division of Santa Cruz County Bank).
The object is to successfully dress a large calf in a pair of giant Wranglers in the shortest amount of time. The only rules governing this event are that the Wranglers get on the right end of the calf with no harm done to the animal.
Each team consists of three contestants; these teams are sponsored by local businesses. Many teams return each year for the chance to win an iconic 'Salinas' belt buckle.
