One Down Three to Go at the California Rodeo Salinas

Successful Opening Performance Raised Awareness for Breast Cancer

The opening performance of the 106th California Rodeo Salinas was colorful and entertaining! Cowboys, cowgirls and rodeo fans donned pink to show their support for Wrangler’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink (TETWP) night presented by Rabobank and $1 from each ticket sold tonight will be donated to the cause. 9,838 people attended and watched the Rodeo and track action. Attendance down slightly by 100 tickets and 1% less than the Thursday performance in 2015.

Under the direction of Henry Dill, the Track was full of highlights as Megan Ford from Hollister, California was crowned Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2016 and rodeo fans were treated to another exciting performance of Cowboy Kenny’s Steel Rodeo Tour as they completed high flying aerial stunts. Other highlights included the Ehcapa Bareback Riders, the popular freestyle bullfights and fireworks. Professional rodeo cowboys kept spectators attention in the arena with fierce competition and rodeo action; full results can be found here:
