OPENING ACTS FOR BIG WEEK KICK OFF CONCERT ANNOUNCED

FRANKIE BALLARD AND THE WILD FEATHERS TO OPEN FOR TIM MCGRAW
04/05/2019

Friday, July 12th will bring a full night of country entertainment to the Salinas Sports Complex as Taylor Farms presents the Big Week Kick Off Concert to start the week of California Rodeo Salinas festivities. Country superstar Tim McGraw will headline the show at 9:30pm with Frankie Ballard playing just before him at 8:00pm and The Wild Feathers opening the show at 6:30pm*.

Country- blues-rocker Frankie Ballard released his latest album El Rio (Warner Nashville) to critical acclaim and was selected by Rolling Stone as one of the 25 Best Country and Americana albums of 2016 and The Tennessean as one of the best 16 Nashville albums of 2016. The singer songwriter has had three #1 country hits to date and boasts Spotify streams in excess of 340 million. With a combined album sales of over 600,000 to date with over 2.3 million digital track sales, Ballard continues to lead the lead country music mixing an American heartland rock sound with traditional country and blues.

Frankie Ballard’s previous album, Sunshine & Whiskey, produced three consecutive no. 1 singles – the platinum-certified “Sunshine & Whiskey,” the gold-certified “Helluva Life,” and one of the Top 3 Billboard Country Airplay songs of 2015, “Young & Crazy.” He has performed on national television including Today, Live with Kelly and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The Wild Feathers are a group that is most at home on the highway, forever looking ahead to the next city and the next shared experience onstage. “When you’re on the road, you’re like cowboys in the Wild West going out into some neon frontier,” says singer-guitarist Taylor Burns.

Their new album “Greetings from the Neon Frontier” finds The Wild Feathers reuniting with producer Jay Joyce, who oversaw the group’s 2013 self-titled debut and 2016’s Lonely Is a Lifetime. The band– packing a three-vocalist punch in Taylor, singer-guitarist Ricky Young and singer-bassist Joel King, along with drummer Ben Dumas – embrace their more countrified influences. Sounding partly like a lost Eagles album and the record Tom Petty never got to make, the album satisfies with thick harmonies, jangly guitars, in-the-pocket grooves and smart, tight songwriting.

Tickets are still available; prices are $35 for grandstands, $85 for reserved floor seats (with very few left) and $70 for standing floor tickets.**
