Kick Off Crown Royal’s 75th Anniversary by Tasting Whisky
California Rodeo to host an evening of Whisky Tasting and more Friday April 25th
Crown Royal has been a loyal sponsor of the California Rodeo for the past several years. Each year the Rodeo Association works with Crown Royal to host a whisky tasting prior to kicking off the Rodeo activities and this year, that tasting will take place on Friday April 25th in the Rodeo Room at the Salinas Sports Complex at 1034 N. Main Street in Salinas. The evening will include an informal presentation from Senior Master of Whisky Steve Beal, an appearance by the Crown Royal Girls, a rib-eye steak dinner provided by The Grower’s Pub, a hosted bar, music and more.
There will be two formats for tasting options: a VIP Tasting for $100 and a General Tasting for $50 per person. The intimate VIP tasting with Steve Beal will take place in the Past President’s Room (next door to the Rodeo Room) for a maximum of 10 patrons and will include 6 Crown Royal blends: Crown Royal, Crown Black, Crown Maple, Crown Reserve, Crown Royal XO and the now extremely rare Cask 16. The VIP tasting is from 6-7 pm and includes appetizers and small bites; when it is over attendees can join the General Tasting next door for a full dinner and the rest of the festivities.
The General Tasting will be held from 6:30-9:00pm and the ticket price is $50 which includes a full dinner, dessert, hosted bar, music, whisky tasting and a chance to learn from a true whisky expert. The Crown Royal blends that will be served at the General Tasting include Crown Royal, Crown Royal Reserve, Crown Black, Crown Maple and Crown Royal XO. Each attendee will be eligible to win door prizes given throughout the evening. There will also be a ‘Royal Remix’ cocktail making challenge for 4 contestants to taste a signature cocktail and attempt to replicate it with the winner receiving a special prize to be announced that night.
