Relay for Life 2019

Date: May 17 - May 18, 2019
Time: 6:00 PM - 12:00 PM
Cost: $10.00

Relay for Life kicks off on Friday May 18, 2019 through the night to Saturday May 19 at noon.

The theme this year is Re'Lei for a Cure-think Hawaiian Islands.

We are encouraging as many rodeo committee members, families, friends, and fans to join us.

Almost all of us have been touched by cancer in some way, so we've decided to make a difference by walking and raising money in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life event. The California Rodeo Salinas has been participating in Relay for Life since 2004. The team was started by the late Lee Brooks who was the Director of Parking for many years for the California Rodeo Association. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004 and fought long and hard until his passing in March of 2007. Lee used to have 10 baseball caps embroidered each year with "Rope in a Cure" and would auction them off to raise money to fight cancer. Lupe Covarrubias-Martinez is our new Team Captain for 2019.

From 2004 to 2018, the California Rodeo's Relay for Life Team has raised over $60,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Our Team-Please Join or Donate!

At the event May 17th and 18th, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society in the world's largest fight against cancer.

Our team is taking action to help finish the fight. Please join our team or make a donation because saving lives from cancer starts with one team, one participant, and one dollar at a time.
