TOAST TO THE TATAS ON OCTOBER 21st

RODEO PARTNERS WITH SVMHS DURING BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH WITH FUN EVENT
09/14/2015

The California Rodeo Salinas and Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System will co-host a social event called “Toast to the Tatas” on Wednesday October 21st to create awareness and funds for the Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign that started in 2004. The evening of food and fun will take place from 5 to 7pm in the Exhibition Mall at the Salinas Sports Complex at 1034 N. Main Street in Salinas. The cost to attend the event is $10 per person; there will be a no-host bar and complimentary appetizers provided by BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Guests are encouraged to wear pink as they socialize and enjoy a short program featuring information about Tough Enough to Wear Pink, Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System and more. Each guest will be eligible to win a door prize. Register by calling 831-775-3100 or by visiting http://www.carodeo.com/events/2015/toast-to-the-tatas. No tickets will be mailed; names will be on a list at the door the night of the event.

Over 160 guests enjoyed the inaugural Toast to the Tatas held in June of 2014. Survivors were celebrated, the founders of Tough Enough to Wear Pink spoke and the crowd had a great time while learning about this unique program. The 2015 event takes place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and will not disappoint.

Tough Enough to Wear Pink provides a nationally-recognized campaign and framework for rodeos and western events to help them promote breast cancer awareness and fundraising to benefit their local communities. 2014 marked the ten year anniversary of this successful program that has raised almost $20 million for breast cancer charities. The California Rodeo Salinas began participating in the Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink Campaign in 2005 and has donated over $45,000 to local breast cancer charities since then. Cowboys and spectators wear pink shirts to our Tough Enough to Wear Pink performance during the Rodeo each year and breast cancer survivors are featured in the grand entry festivities that night. $1 from every ticket sold on TETWP night is also donated to our charity of choice, Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. For more information about TETWP visit http://www.toughenoughtowearpink.com/about/
