by Star Market, the Colmo del Rodeo Parade is celebrating its 6th
year since it was revived for the centennial Rodeo anniversary in 2010. The
Colmo del Rodeo is a night-lighted parade that will start at 8pm on July 11th
at West Acacia and South Main Street. The parade will travel down Main Street
and will end at 1 Main Street at the Steinbeck Center. The Colmo del Rodeo
parade will feature bands, creative floats, equestrians, baton groups and
special groups. Parade entries will be judged by three members of the community.
Entries will be judged on theme, entertainment value and rodeo flavor. There
will be four announcer stages located along the parade route.
This
year the Grand Marshalls of the Colmo del Rodeo Parade will be the group of
kids who attended the All-America Cities finals in Denver, Colorado in
mid-June. This group of youth helped Salinas earn the title of an All- America
City by proving that Salinas is being innovative in addressing our challenges,
especially when it comes to youth. The Chairman of the Colmo del Rodeo Parade
Committee, Mikel Ann Miller, said, “The Rodeo Association wants to acknowledge
the positive things that the City of Salinas is doing to empower youth,
promote health and change perceptions and
these kids had a big part in bringing home the honor of being one of ten
All-America Cities.”

the California Rodeo Salinas
The
California Rodeo Salinas will take place July 16-19, 2015. The California Rodeo
Association is a not-for-profit organization that strives to preserve and
promote the traditions of the California Rodeo Salinas and the West. We support
the community and other non-profit organizations through the staging of the
annual California Rodeo Salinas and other year round operations of the Salinas
Sports Complex. Through donation of our facility, vending and fundraising
