SALINAS, CA - November17, 2009 -The California Rodeo Salinas will start its own Hall of Fame in 2010. Other prestigious rodeos such as the Pendleton Round Up and Cheyenne Frontier Days already have Hall of Fame programs that honor those that have contributed to their organization or excelled at their events. The California Rodeo Salinas Hall of Fame will strive to preserve the heritage, history and traditions of the California Rodeo Salinas along with showcasing individuals, organizations and livestock whose distinctive contributions to the California Rodeo Salinas have helped keep the traditions of the West alive. A Hall of Fame Committee will review nominees and select inductees. Chosen inductees will be honored during an inaugural Hall of Fame event on July 15th or 16th  2010. Details about that event will be announced at a later date. The announcement of the Inductees to be honored in 2010 will be made in May of 2010.

Nominations must include the following:

-Letter of Nomination (at least one)

-A detailed biography, including California Rodeo Salinas involvement, family ties,

accomplishments, etc.

-A minimum of one photograph (this will not be returned, please make copies)

-Completed nomination form; incomplete forms will not be considered.

-Along with the information requested, additional photographs, newspaper articles,

clippings, videos and other relevant references may be submitted.

The California Rodeo Salinas is soliciting funds to build a Wall of Fame to honor inductees and will also feature profiles of the inductees in the Heritage Museum at the Salinas Sports Complex. The California Rodeo Salinas will celebrate 100 Years of Tradition July 15-18, 2010. The California Rodeo Association is a non-profit organization that strives to preserve and promote the traditions of the California Rodeo Salinas and the West. We support the community and other non-profit organizations through the staging of the annual California Rodeo Salinas and other year round operations of the Salinas Sports Complex. Through donation of our facility, vending and fundraising opportunities during Rodeo and other events, the California Rodeo Association returns over $200,000 annually to local non-profits.
