Rodeo Association Partners with Ag Against Hunger to Fight Hunger on Friday Night @ the RODEO!

We are all lucky to live in the produce capital of the world and dine on the freshest vegetables and fruits that agricultural companies can provide, yet some people are still hungry. They do not have the means to afford fresh fruits and vegetables as part of their diet. Ag Against Hunger is a non-profit organization whose mission is to alleviate hunger by creating a connection between the agricultural community and food assistance programs. Since 1990, the generous donations of surplus produce from our local growers and shippers have helped Ag Against Hunger bring 178 million pounds of produce to tens of millions of hungry children, adults and seniors.
In 2011, the California Rodeo Salinas will partner with Ag Against Hunger to host the Ag Against Hunger night at the Rodeo on Friday July 22nd. The Rodeo takes pride in giving back more than $200,000 annually to non-profits within our community. We hope to raise awareness for this program along with funds to help them operate. Part of the fundraising efforts include soliciting new or existing Rodeo sponsors to participate in an Ag Mascot race; large veggies and/or fruits will race on the track during the Friday night performance of the Rodeo. It will be entertaining and educational all at the same time.
Half of the value of your sponsorship will be donated to Ag Against Hunger. The other half goes to the Rodeo Association to cover costs of executing sponsorship benefits and help to fund this event. We hope this unique program is something your company is interested in. It will benefit two great organizations in this Valley.
The program will be advertised in our ticket brochure, online at www.carodeo.com and also promoted on our social media sites, in our newsletter and e-blasts and more. Ag Against Hunger and the Rodeo Association are also working on plans for joint public relations efforts including press releases, events and more. Opportunities to participate in the Rodeo's Ag Against Hunger Mascot Race start at $1500 for existing sponsors and $3000 for a new sponsor. These sponsorships include benefits of the Rodeo sponsorship package as well as lots of publicity, announcement at the Rodeo Friday night along with a listing in our day sheet.
